In today's complex and competitive world, where people are in pursuit of endless material pleasure, life is full of pulls and pressures causing enormous pain and making people immune to the problems and sufferings of their fellow beings. At Sthitaprajna one learns to live life in a state of constant happiness with good health and in harmony with nature using minimum resources.
Sthitaprajna meaning “perfect yogi” or “stable-minded” is a vegan retreat center located close to the western coast of India on the footsteps of the Western Ghats in the state of Karnataka. Spread over 3 acres of pristine nature along a seasonal natural stream, it is a smallrain-forest in the making with bare minimum human intervention. It is an ideal place to be in silence and solitude and reconnect with nature. A variety of birds(including the great Indian hornbill) visit during the day and wild animals like deer, pigs etc during the night. Visits and stays (ideally for 1 or 2 persons) at Sthitaprajna, with advance booking, can be facilitated any time of the year though monsoon months from June 15 to Oct 15 are the best.
Campus activities: Meditation (on an elevated platform), pranayama, reading(a good collection of thought-provoking books is available), swimming (seasonal), nature walk, playing indoor & outdoor games and cooking/eating. And bicycles and motorbike/scooter are available for hire for short rides outside the campus. Village walk and visit to nearby homes of tribals can be arranged.

Accommodation type: There is solitary cottage with permanent fixed cots for two, attached western toilet and running cold water (mattresses and bed linen will be provided).Facilities can be shared with the neighboring residence of Shankar Narayan.
Food: Healthy vegan food with emphasis on organically grown ingredients procured from local sources.
