The Indian Vegan Society has organised a one day Vegan Music Festival on Saturday, 20th September, 2008 at Sai Vishram Vegetarian Non-alcoholic Beach Resort, Byndoor, Karnataka, India. The main event was a Carnatic Classical Music Concert by Vegan Mohan Santhanam and his troupe, Chennai, followed by an Indian vegan buffet dinner.
The Indian Vegan Society was present at the38th World Vegetarian Congress of the International Vegetarian Union (IVU) at Dresden, Germany from July 27 to August 3, 2008. Our President Vn.Shankar Narayan has presented a speech on "Origin and history of vegetarianism in India". Our Director Dr. Nandita Shah has been speaking on "Vegan Nutrition and Heath".
